    Kyla Mauk, a 19-year-old college student from Howard Lake, Minn., representing Wright County, was crowned the 62nd Princess Kay of the Milky Way in an evening ceremony at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds August 26. Mauk will serve as the official goodwill ambassador for nearly 3,500 Minnesota dairy farm families. Kyla is the daughter of Chris and Harlan Mauk, and attends South Dakota State University, where she is pursuing a degree in agriculture education.

    A pickup truck with seven teenagers riding in the truck bed and two in the cab rolled over late Sunday, injuring all nine. Wright County sheriff's deputies responded to the report of a single vehicle rollover accident near Annandale just after 10 p.m. When deputies arrived, they found a 1998 Chevy S-10 pickup that had been severely damaged in a soybean field near the intersection of County Road 35 and Peyton Avenue in French Lake Township Two teenagers were in the truck's cab and seven other passengers were riding in the truck bed, the sheriff's office said in a news release.

    Tom Kelly, Wright County Attorney, reports that on July 21, 2015, a Grand Jury returned an indictment on Christopher Besser, DOB: 6-1-93, charging him with two counts of first degree premeditated murder for killing his father, Todd Besser, DOB: 6-16-65, and his older brother, Blake Besser, DOB: 7-2-87. The Grand Jury also returned charges of second degree intentional murder for the killing of his father and older brother.
