    Hino Motors Manufacturing announced Wednesday it plans on expanding operations in Wood County, with plans centered around the purchase of the former Cold Water Creek distribution center in Mineral Wells and reconfiguration into a truck production facility. Hino, which is owned by Toyota Motor Corp., will make a $100 million investment to the 962,000-square foot facility in hopes of making it operational by early 2019.

    State Commerce Secretary Woody Thrasher gave a big hint about such an event on Tuesday while participating in Toyota's revelation of a $115.3 million investment to produce the company's first American-made hybrid transaxles at the company's plant in Putnam County. The Parkersburg News and Sentinel is reporting that a press conference is scheduled for 7 p.m. today "to make an announcement on the former Coldwater Creek facility," which is the 962,000-square-foot plant for the former catalog retailer near Mineral Wells, Wood County.

    One man was arrested and a passenger injured after a high-speed chase Saturday night that started in Parkersburg ended with a rollover crash in Ritchie County.
