    A man who went missing on Baker Lake and was found dead more than two weeks later died of accidental drowning, said Gary Goldfogel, Whatcom County medical examiner. Glen J. Richardson, 49, of Bellingham, was first reported missing on the morning of July 14. Richardson had taken a small boat on the lake to fish at about 8 p.m. the night before and didn't return.

Undersheriff Jeff Parks said the rescue attempt began about 7 a.m. Friday with a call from friends of the climbers, who received a text message about their situation. The climbers were a 22-year-old woman and a 28-year-old man, both from Knoxville, Tenn.
