    The Washington County Board of Commissioners continued work on the county's 2016 budget Aug. 25.The recommended budget, which was first reviewed Aug. 11, would increase the county net tax levy by 3.49 percent, to $92.8 million, and is based on the county receiving non-levy revenue of $94.1 million. If the budget is approved with the recommended increase in the property tax levy, it would mean that the median valued home in the county of $247,400, assuming its value increased just more than 1 percent since 2015, would have an $18 increase in its county property tax levy.

The charges stemmed from a dispute with his wife Autumn, a former Washington County commissioner, after she closed the Newport bar that they own.
