    Black bears are moving south , and Southwest Michigan residents may have to adopt the same practices their northern Michigan neighbors have learned to avoid bear trouble -- moving grills, bird feeders and any other food sources indoors when possible. Near Lawrence, a homeowner shot video of a bear eating bird seed from a feeder; there also have been sightings along the Lake Michigan lake shore in Muskegon, Ottawa, Allegan and Van Buren Counties, said Jordyn Richardson, wildlife outreach technician for the Michigan Department of Natural Resources in Plainwell.

    A Van Buren County man who admitted to stabbing and killing his aunt during the 9-1-1 call he made to police to report her death, has been ruled incompetent to stand trial, and prosecutors are waiting for reports on whether he was insane when committed the killing. 23-year-old Logan Amstutz apparently got into a fight with his 57-year-old Aunt, Janet Amstutz at her place on Ridgeview Circle in Antwerp Township near Paw Paw back in late November, stabbing her several times.

Shirely, who was not wearing a helmet, collided into the sedan and "sustained various injuries including head trauma," the release said.
