    Mac Trailer Enterprises Inc. is receiving a 55 percent, seven-year state Job Creation Tax Credit for an expansion project in Alliance that is expected to create 150 full-time jobs. The Stark County project also is expected to generate $7.5 million in additional payroll and retain $26 million in current payroll, according to an announcement Monday from the Ohio governor's office.

    When Stark County Community Corrections Planning Board President Frank Forchione brought up a proposal, which Stark County Sheriff George Maier sought approval for a week ago, it was quickly sent back to the jail housing subcommittee, which includes a virtual who's who of Stark County Democrats, including Forchione, Maier and Phil Giavasis. That is in addition to Chief Deputy John Campbell and Jail Administrator Major Brian Arnold, who were sent to provide additional information on the proposal that would charge Summit County the same $70 daily housing fee per inmate that county entities, such as the city of Alliance, pay as supplemented by taxpayers thanks to the county criminal justice tax.
