    Virginia Democrats have filed suit in Alexandria federal court contending 55 absentee ballots were not counted in a closely contested House of Delegates district in Stafford County. Marc Elias, a private attorney representing state Democrats in the canvassing of votes in three close House districts, says those ballots for the 28th House district arrived at the Stafford County registrar's office from the Post Office at 10 o'clock the morning after the election.

Lidl US, a division of German retailer Schwarz Group, has announced that it will open at 8 a.m. Nov. 30 following a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 7:40 a.m. The store, which is next to a Walmart and soon-to-open McDonald's on U.S. 17, will be the second Lidl in the area.
