Deputies were dispatched to of 202 Garrison Woods Drive in the Garrison Woods Apartment Complex at around 4:50 a.m. Maurice Williams Scott, 33,of Stafford County, had been shot during a fight and died on the way to the hospital, according to the sheriff's office.

According to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office, the incident happened shortly before 10:30 a.m. after a 64-year-old man fell through the ice on Aquia Creek near the 800 block of Hope Road in attempt to save his dog, which had also fallen through the ice.
