    If all goes as planned, and it looks like it will, bicyclists on the Great Allegheny Passage will be able to pedal through the 849-foot Pinkerton Tunnel by mid-September. Renovation work on the former Western Maryland Railway tunnel, located between the Fort Hill and Markleton trail access parking lots in southern Somerset County, began March 30. The tunnel is bordered by two spans that cross the Casselman River - the Pinkerton Low Bridge and Pinkerton High Bridge.
