Joshua Hart, 25, and Brittany Smith, 29, were convicted in Orange, Mass., in May of first-degree murder in the stabbing death of Thomas Harty, 95. Harty's wife, Joanna Fisher, 77, was seriously injured in the attack and later died from her injuries.

As we reported, the gruesome crime was carried out over a large area, starting with the slaying by gunfire inside his vehicle, stopped along Interstate 81 in Rockingham County, on Aug. 5. Hareton Jaime Rodriguez Sariol, 48, pleaded guilty to two felony counts of first-degree murder Thursday for killing Elizabeth Rodriguez Rubio, 48, and Angie Caroline Rodriguez Rubio, 12. In exchange for leading police to their bodies, the death penalty was taken off the table.
