    One person is dead and three others are injured, including two children, after a vehicle slams into a semi on Interstate 70. The crash happened around 2 p.m. on Sunday on the westbound lanes near mile-marker 14. The crash happened after another accident on westbound I-70 when crews were working to reroute traffic. Troopers said a red car driven by Andrew Adkins, 29, failed to maintain an assured cleared distance and ran into the back of semi which had stopped.

    Preble County, Ohio, to William D. and Laverna F. Shelley Moyer, Meryl was a life-long resident of this area. He was a 1956 graduate of Greens Fork High School. Meryl was a United States Air Force veteran. He worked at Visteon Corporation as a data systems manager, retiring in 2000. He also worked for Independent Living Center as the bookkeeper and for Union County Soil and Water as the treasurer. Meryl was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church and served in various positions including president, vice-president, treasurer, and deacon for 40 years. He was also a long time member of the No Name Bowling League. Meryl enjoyed traveling and golfing and was an I.U. Basketball fan. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Janice C. Bane Moyer, to whom he was married in 1956; son, Rodney L. Moyer of Cambridge City, Indiana; daughter, Melody L. Moyer of Centerville, Indiana; nieces; nephews; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Todd Moyer; sisters, Juanita J. Ullery and Marjorie M. McCashland; and brother, William Moyer. Visitation for Meryl L. Moyer will be from 5 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 14, 2015, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, October 15, 2015, with visitation one hour prior to the service at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2300 West Main Street. Richmond, Indiana, with Rev. Dr. Daniel L. Nugent officiating. Burial will be in Greens Fork South Cemetery.
