    Deputies were called around 3 p.m. the report of an unattended death in the town of Sawyer. A more specific location was not provided. Sheriff Vernon Chinn said when deputies arrived, they found the body of a 26-year-old man. Chinn did not release the man's name.

    A new wind farm in western Kansas will supply Westar Energy, bringing its capacity to enough to serve half its residential customers if all windmills were running at full tilt at the same time. The new wind farm, to be built in 2016 in Pratt County, will supply about 200 megawatts of capacity to Westar, bringing the company's total to about 1,300 megawatts from wind energy.
