Carter Jr., 38, of Ferguson, Mo., is lodged in Pike County, where he faces a felony charge of possessing ammunition as a convicted felon, as well as misdemeanor charges of unlawful display of title and driving while revoked and a charge of driving while uninsured.

    A man arrested on Interstate 72 in Pike County after reportedly discharging a firearm into a vehicle while traveling northbound on U.S. Route 67 in Scott County appeared in court in both counties last week. Robert L. Carter Jr., 38, of Ferguson, Mo., was arrested in Pike County on the Interstate near mile marker 33 around 6:30 a.m. Aug. 1 after Illinois State Police issued an alert following the report of the shooting incident earlier that morning in Scott County.
