    A shelter for homeless and battered women on Friday asked a judge to order Passaic County to continue providing $92,000 in funding it provided annually to the facility. Strengthen Our Sisters, a shelter that currently houses 155 women and children at seven locations, including West Milford and Wanaque, had received the funding every year from the county under an annual contract that expires every June 30. This year, however, the county declined to renew the contract with the shelter, saying that the shelter was not complying with requirements, such as not keeping accurate records and allowing residents to stay in the shelter for more than 120 days.
