    A burning utility pole caused a power outage in an industrial park in Watkinsville Wednesday morning that was expected to be restored by noon. The outage was caused by a utility pole fire that apparently burned slowly throughout the night, according to Oconee County Assistant Fire Chief Ken Parsons.

James McHaffey was released from the hospital with a broken ankle, but he said Monday that the injury is still being treated to determine if he will need surgery.
