Associate Director Lorraine Larson says they've received a $20,000 grant from the Wells Fargo Foundation Larson says they've had good community support, enabling Habitat to maintain a consistent construction schedule for the last decade In addition to the financial investment, Larson says Wells Fargo team members recently volunteered a combined 100 hours to help build a home on Whiting Street in Grass Valley, one of two in that neighborhood that's under construction this summer, with completion expected by the fall.

Cal Fire Spokesperson Amy Head says the blaze, which began in the area of Highway 20 and Rex Reservoir Road during the noon hour, not far from the fairgrounds, has scorched an estimated 7-10 acres of brush and timber.
