    Police have identified the 15-year-old Midland Township male killed when the car he was driving left the road and struck several trees, according to the Midland County Sheriff's Department. Investigators say Gabriel Wayne Kushmaul was driving a 2009 Volkswagen Jetta south when he left the road and struck several trees, the sheriff's department reports.

    The Midland County Sheriff's Office said Gabriel Wayne Kushmaul, from Midland Township, was driving a 2009 Volkswagen Jetta on Seven Mile south of Wackerly Road in Midland County's Lee Township at around 7:32 a.m. April 29. Investigators said he left the roadway and hit several trees. He was ejected, and pronounced dead at the scene.

    Saginaw's mass transit system has formally endorsed the statewide road and sales tax increase proposal coming to Michigan ballots on Tuesday, May 5. The Saginaw Transit Authority Regional Services Board of Directors adopted a resolution in support of Michigan's "Proposal 1" at its April 27 meeting. STARS General Manager Sylvester Payne pointed out that the proposal would mean increased funding for mass transit as well as money to fix the state's roads and bridges.
