    The Louisburg Cider Mill will be hosting live milking demonstrations provided via the Southwest Dairy Farmers' Mobile Dairy Classroom on May 13. Demonstrations will take place at 10 a.m., noon, 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. About half of the stops on this year's Miami County farm tour are new. All stops will be open to visitors 9.am.

    A paramedic and a patient were injured when a Neosho County ambulance slid off U.S. Highway 169 in Miami County and rolled over during wet conditions Aug. 30. The ambulance was traveling north on U.S. 169 just south of 239th Street at 8:37 p.m. Aug. 30 when the driver lost control of the vehicle on the wet road, causing it to enter a ditch and overturn, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol report. Paramedic Gary E. Enos, 38, of Chanute, Kan., was in the back of the ambulance with the patient, 58-year-old Kenneth N. Chase of Centerville, Kan.

Upon arrival at the scene, it was determined that a 2016 Ford Mustang, occupied by one adult male, was traveling east bound on 311th Street between Beaver Creek Road and Pflumm Road., The driver of the Ford Mustang was identified as Cooper H. Ventress , of Paola.
