    An explosion and fire today at a refinery in Carson prompted a hazardous materials response, but there were no immediate reports of injuries. Firefighters were dispatched at 1:19 p.m. to the Tesoro refinery in the 23200 block of South Alameda Street after getting a report of an explosion in a tank and active fire, according to Inspector Gustavo Medina of the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
