    The Wayne County Sheriff's Office Monday served four more warrants on people connected with a Lenoir County dog fighting ring. Thomas E. Whitehorn Jr., 39, of 504 Dail St., Kevin Anthony Winn, 28, of 208 E. Kornegay St. in Mount Olive, Jalisa Janea Bryant, 27, of 313 Oliver St. in Pollocksville and Sabastian Arness Woods, 50, of 1101 Harris St., are all charged with felony dog fighting.

    Lenoir County health director Joey Huff said he received a courtesy call late Thursday from the N.C. Department of Environmental Quality informing him that the Jackson Heights Mobile Home Park had been without water since Tuesday. Concerns about water supply and enforcement issues are the jurisdiction of DEQ, but the department reached out to the county in case other public health concerns were to arise from the water outage.

    Warrants have been served on five more people ---- some of them local ---- in connection with a Lenoir County dog fighting ring. The warrants were issued by Lenoir County and served by the Wayne County Sheriff's Office on Friday, Oct. 27. Warrants for felony dog fighting were served on Deja Monique Bryant, 22, 6601 Roundstone Drive, Raleigh; Briana Lashay Flanagan, 22, 378 Kelly Springs Road, Mount Olive; Ryan Jaquan Gross, 23, 100 Larchmont Circle; Angela King, 45, 1203 Edgerton St.; and Faronta Thompson, 40, 660 E. New Hope Road.

    Michael Leon Goff, 38, of Kinston was arrested Wednesday, March 22 and charged with felony counts of indecent liberties with a child age 13,14 or 15. Lenoir Criminal Investigation Detectives detained Goff, according to a news release from the Lenoir County Sheriff's Office. Goff plead guilty in Superior Court in Lenoir County, and he was sentenced by Superior Court Judge Imelda Pate and has a listed conviction date of Oct. 11, 2017.
