    After finding Harold David Stambaugh Jr. guilty of murdering his wife, a Jefferson County jury on Friday night returned a mercy recommendation, and Judge David H. Sanders subsequently sentenced Stambaugh to serve 15 years to life in prison. Stambaugh, 43, was convicted of first degree murder Dec. 18, as well as misdemeanor brandishing, in connection with the Nov. 7, 2014, shooting that left his wife, Victoria, dead on the living room floor of her mother's Charles Town residence.
