With cold temperatures and snow on the track and infield at Jefferson County Stadium in Lakewood, the decision was made by Colorado High School Activities Association officials to wait a day to start the event.

    Denver7 reported Friday that 47-year-old Gretchen Krohnfeldt shot herself in the head in her home Tuesday afternoon, a day after reports about the relationship surfaced and Krohnfeldt was placed on administrative leave by Jefferson County Public Schools. A school resource officer was told Monday that the teacher had an inappropriate relationship with a former Drake student who is now in high school, according to a joint news release issued by Arvada police and the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office earlier this week.
