    After stirring a backlash with their July vote to cut coaching stipends, members of the Halifax County School Board will reconsider the issue at a special call meeting in Halifax Tuesday at 6 p.m. One trustee who has sought out comparisons between what Halifax County and other school divisions pay their coaches says he is sticking by his view that Halifax is out of line with its peers. Analyzing the size of coaching stipends across the state, "we realized across the board, our coaches are getting paid near or at the top, whereas [salaries for] our teachers are at or near the bottom - which didn't seem fair," said ED-4 trustee Joe Gasperini, who served on a committee tasked with studying the issue with ED-1 trustee Orey Hill.
