    In Granville County Superior Court earlier this week, lawyers for the man charged with the double murder of a Granville County couple asked that the death penalty be taken off the table. Eric Campbell, 23, is charged with two counts of first-degree murder for the deaths of Jerome Faulkner, 73, and his wife, Dora Faulkner, 62. He also faces charges of first-degree burglary, second-degree arson, robbery with a dangerous weapon, larceny of a motor vehicle, financial card theft, identity theft and two counts of cruelty to animals.
