    SILVER CITY >> Hurley Municipal Court Judge David Ramos, Sr., has been disciplined by the New Mexico Supreme Court for attempting to vouch for the character of a defendant in a pending matter taking place in a different court. According to the Stipulation Agreement and Consent to Discipline filed by the New Mexico Judicial Standards Commission, Ramos admits that he contacted Grant County Magistrate Judge Maurine Laney in an attempt to personally vouch for the character of a defendant in that court, and to obtain special treatment for the defendant.
