    Akins died at the scene of an accident about 10:25 p.m. Tuesday on U.S. 81 about 2.5 miles south of Pocasset in Grady County, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports. Akins was driving a tractor-trailer south on U.S. 81 when the rear dual tires on the driver's side of a pickup driven north by Christopher D. Flood, 29, of Ellijay, Georgia, came off and crossed into the southbound lanes, the patrol reports.

    A 22-year-old man was taken by MediFlight air ambulance early Sunday morning with multiple injuries after he fell asleep at the wheel and crashed his vehicle on I-44 in Grady County, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said. The vehicle rolled once and stopped on the road, blocking both lanes, causing a second a collision when a pickup crashed into it as it was traveling west on the interstate around 4:40 a.m. on September 24. Christopher A. Pugh II, who was admitted to an Oklahoma City hospital, was driving on I-44 south of Chickasha when he fell asleep and his 2016 Nissan Maxima left the road, according to the trooper's collision report.
