    A settlement has ended a lawsuit filed by several Fremont County ranchers against a conservation group suspected of trespassing on private lands to collect water data. Fremont County District Court Judge Norman Young approved a settlement that prevents the Western Watersheds Project's regional director, Jonathon Ratner, from traveling on some private roads, but doesn't impose any monetary damages.

    An Island Park woman was cited Tuesday for misdemeanor inattentive driving following a report she hit a construction zone flagger on U.S. Highway 20 in the Last Chance area of Island Park. Laurie Lyn Augustin also was cited with misdemeanor leaving the scene of an accident, a Fremont County Sheriff's Office news release said.

    Eastern Idaho Public Health has issued a health advisory for Henrys Lake and upper Island Park Reservoir after the water there tested positive for three toxic varieties of algae. Water samples confirmed the presence of the blue-green algae species Microsystis, Anabaena, and Aphanizomenon-species with the potential to produce dangerous toxins.

    Jeffrey Ivey, 23, of Omaha, was sentenced Monday in Fremont County District Court to five years in prison for felony theft charges. Authorities say on June 4, an Iowa State Patrol officer received a report of a stolen vehicle leaving Omaha, southbound on Interstate 29. The officer was alerted that the stolen vehicle was located at a house in Fremont County near Percival, Iowa.

    The Fremont County Sheriff's Office received nearly a dozen calls Wednesday after it sent a news release asking area residents to call in with information about stolen construction tools or if they had purchased construction tools from an Ashton man. Steven Craig Purcell, aka "Puck," age 56, was arrested Wednesday and booked into the Fremont County Jail on burglary charges.
