The Fremont County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday approved a resolution in recognition and appreciation of the cooperation of the Chaffee County commissioners and the citizens of Salida and Chaffee County in responding to the Hayden Pass wildfire emergency.

Christine Humphrey "unlawfully, feloniously, and with criminal negligence caused an injury to, or permitted to be unreasonably placed in a situation that posed a threat of injury to the life or health" of 9-month-old Rhett Walker, 11th Judicial District Attorney Thom LeDoux determined Thursday.

Authorities say on June 4, an Iowa State Patrol officer received a report of a stolen vehicle leaving Omaha, southbound on Interstate 29. The officer was alerted that the stolen vehicle was located at a house in Fremont County near Percival, Iowa.
