    According to the Navarro County Sheriff's Office Facebook page, the standoff with police started at 9 a.m. on I-45 at the 224 mile marker, just south of Corsicana on Tuesday. Sheriff's deputies said that the man fired at officers in Limestone County and then robbed a store in Freestone County.

    About 6:08 p.m. Dec. 9, a deputy was dispatched to the 2500 block of ACR 358 in response to a possible sale of stolen property, a Polaris RZR ATV valued at $7,000. When the deputy arrived, there was no one at the residence, but an ATV matching the description of a stolen vehicle out of Freestone County was in the yard of the home.

    The Environmental Protection Agency is proposing to withdraw a federal plan it had previously proposed that would have required stricter pollution standards for seven Texas power plants, including the NRG Energy power plant in Limestone County as well as Luminant's Big Brown power plant in Freestone County. The proposal follows up on a series of events beginning in 2011, when the EPA issued a new, stricter rule called Cross-State Air Pollution Rule.
