    Mattox, the reigning USA South Athletic Conference Player of the Year began her final college hoops campaign Wednesday by netting a game-best 31 points on a 12 of 19 shooting display as the Panthers bested Roanoke College 72-56 in a non-conference women's basketball contest at William P. Swartz Gymnasium. Mattox, a former two-time All-State prep player at Franklin County, will, in all likelihood, erase the name of former Panthers teammate Jacole Hairston at the top of the program's career scoring chart this season.
