According to the patrol, the crash occurred at 8:44 a.m. Wednesday as Powell was driving a 2005 Kenworth semitrailer north on Interstate 35. The patrol said the vehicle drifted off the roadway for an unknown reason and went into a field, coming to rest at Shawnee and Vermont roads, about a mile south of Wellsville.
