    Timothy Chew asked a district judge Monday to reduce his $750,000 cash-only bond that has kept him in jail since May. A man convicted of being involved in a gunfight on South Hill in May asked a district judge Monday to reduce his current bond or release him on his own recognizance until his sentencing in October. Timothy Chew, 27, of Burlington, also asked District Judge Mark Kruse to grant him a deferred judgement when he is sentenced Oct. 16. Last Friday, a Des Moines County jury of six women and six men convicted Chew of going armed with intent and assault with intent to inflict bodily harm.

Brodi Jacob Sattler, 17, 26 Village Court in Mediapolis, entered guilty pleas Thursday to a variety of charges, including possession of illegal drugs, burglary, theft and operating a motor vehicle without the owner's consent.
