    Firefighters from Township 7, New Bern, and West New Bern fire departments responded to a call at 5:06 p.m that a house at 125 Sweet Bay Drive in a suburb off of East Thurman Road was on fire. Ira Whitford, assistant director of Craven County Emergency Management, said when the first firefighters arrived on the scene the garage attached to the house was fully engulfed in flames that quickly spread to the attic of the house.
