    On Tuesday afternoon, a Clay County Deputy driving on Highway 18, initiated a traffic stop of a suspicious white Dodge Grand Caravan when the driver, later identified as 52-year old Robert Hurd, turned onto a gravel road and accelerated in an attempt to elude the Deputy. The Deputy pursued Hurd north through Clay County, entered Dickinson County traveling north and east before entering Emmet County, at speeds in excess of 100 mph.
