    SIDNEY – The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency says Union Pacific Railroad has failed to properly clean up diesel fuel that leaked from one of its trains into the Salt Fork River in eastern Illinois. The agency asked the state's attorney general Friday to compel the railroad to do more to mitigate the May 2 spill near the village of Sidney in Champaign County.

Champaign police say the burglary happened at a residence in Greencroft Drive on May 1, between 8:20 a.m. and 10:20 a.m. Police say there were no obvious signs of forced entry, and that more than $50,000 in jewelry items were taken from the home.     An Urbana man was sentenced to two years of probation and four months of electronic home detention after admitting to a Champaign County judge that he crashed his car in a Champaign residential neighborhood while drunk. Trevin Miller,22, who listed an address in the 2400 block of East Green Street, pleaded guilty Tuesday before Judge Richard Klaus to aggravated driving under the influence in connection with a crash that happened about 10:30 a.m. on Feb. 16. Champaign police said Miller was driving south on Lynn Street near Union when his car left the road to the east, grazed a utility pole, hit a woman walking her dog, then came to rest in a bush in the front yard of a home on Union Street.
