    An Iowa man is being held in the Champaign County Jail, accused of breaking into a Champaign home last week. Justin D. Washpun, 37, was charged Friday in Champaign County Circuit Court with residential burglary for a break-in at a home in the 3000 block of West Daniel Street that was discovered Nov. 14. A Champaign police report said the resident told police she was gone from her home and that someone was checking the house while she was away.

    An Urbana man criminally charged in Indiana with sexually molesting a child for years is also under investigation locally, A. Bernard Coffer, 61, who has a home on Provine Circle in Urbana and also lives in Gary, Ind., was arrested Saturday at a Savoy apartment after Indiana authorities charged him on Nov. 19 with six felony counts of child molesting. Coffer appeared in Champaign County Circuit Court on Monday and agreed to return voluntarily to Lake County, Ind., for prosecution.

    The former student manager for the University of Illinois women's basketball team has been sentenced to court supervision after pleading guilty to public indecency. Alex Wallner, 22, who listed an address in the 2700 block of Rachel Road, Champaign, was charged with misdemeanor public indecency back in April in connection with two incidents that allegedly occurred at the Illini Union Bookstore and the Undergraduate Library on April 13 and 15. Wallner pleaded guilty Friday before Champaign County Judge Brett Olmstead to a single count of public indecency for the conduct that took place at the book store on April 13; the other count was dismissed.

    In an update to a story WAND brought you on Sunday, the Champaign County Coroner has identified the body of a man who was found dead on November 8. Coroner Duane Northrup says Flavio Roberto De Paz, 42, was found dead in an alley behind University Avenue at about 12:24 p.m. According to Northrup, no signs of trauma were found, and foul play is not suspected at this time. Final results will be available after the completion of toxicology testing.
