    Officials say skeletal remains found in a wooded area in Catawba County afternoon were those of William Pierre Mayfield, a Hickory man reported missing in September 2014. Deputies say the 32-year-old's remains were found around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday on 15th Avenue SE, near Highway 70 SE, by a property owner picking blueberries.
