    Thomas Egley, the suspect in the 1970 murder and rape of Loretta Jones in Price, pleaded guilty based on a plea bargain Tuesday morning, ending a 46 year who-dun-it odyssey in Carbon County. "I don't understand why they are going back to [something that happened] in 1970, 46 years ago," he told Judge George Harmond in his Seventh District Courtroom that morning as Harmond asked questions to be sure that Egley understood what he was committing himself to.

The Southeast Utah Health Department made the decision after lab results were returned showing escalating levels of cyanobacteria at Mountain View boat ramp at Scofield State Park and other places on the 2,800-acre lake nestled at 7,600 feet above sea level in the Price River's headwaters.
