It was approved unanimously during a Town Council meeting Monday night, though officials offered few chances for public scrutiny of the document.

    The Christmas Clearing House, organized by Interfaith Ministries of Calhoun County and the Salvation Army, will accept applications from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Oct. 16-20 at the Bridge, located behind Anniston First United Methodist Church at 1400 Noble St. April LaFollette, director of Interfaith Ministries, said families who come to apply will do so for both the Clearing House and for help from the Salvation Army. If approved through the program, families will get gift certificates to Wal-Mart through the Clearing House and gifts from the Salvation Army, she said.
