Tonight at 9 p.m., three of four northbound lanes will be closed between exit 54 and 55, in addition to the exit and entrance ramps at exit 55. All traffic control will be removed by 6 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4. The department is adding four travel lanes to an 8-mile stretch of I-85 in Cabarrus and Rowan counties to improve traffic flow. The project also involves replacing and rebuilding several bridges over I-85 to meet current design requirements and eliminate substandard clearances.

According to the Cabarrus County Sheriff's Office, deputies are investigating a report of sexual assault that took place at the Concord Branch of the Cabarrus County Public Library System on Union Street North. Reports suggest that 32-year-old Larry Herman Barrino was seen talking with a teenage girl outside the library at around 10 a.m. The two went into the library shortly before 1 p.m. and were seen walking into the men's restroom, where the assault reportedly took place.
