    Cal Fire-Butte County and the District Attorney's have both issued reminders that all fireworks, even those designated as “safe and sane,” are banned in Butte County outside the city limits of Oroville and Gridley District Attorney Mike Ramsey said in a press release that even possessing fireworks outside those city limits is illegal and subject to fines upwards of a $1,000 and six months in county jail. Ramsey also warned that any fire either intentionally or negligently set by fireworks would be prosecuted as a felony.
