    Kalamazoo television station WWMT reported Tuesday that Branch County Prosecutor Ralph Kimble is being investigated by the Michigan Attorney General's Office. The attorney general's office did not reveal to the TV station what they are investigating, so it's not known if they are looking into sexual harassment allegations that have been made against Kimble.

Branch County Clerk Terry Kubasiak says Coldwater resident Dan Corwin asked for the recount because he claimed the county's new voting machines did not count all of the ballots.

    A hearing for the entry of pleas has been scheduled for next Monday afternoon in Branch County Circuit Court in two cases that have been filed against a former Quincy school teacher who was charged earlier this year with six counts of criminal sexual conduct. A three day jury trial was scheduled to start on December 5th in the case of 44-year-old Jason Ferrell.

    A Community Health Center of Branch County employee once again Tuesday asked the Branch County Board of Commissioners to delay the take over of the hospital by Promedica Health System of Toledo, because 32 hospital employees will not be able to draw early retirement benefits. Hospital President and CEO Randy DeGroot said during last Thursday's work session that the original asset purchase agreement allowed for access of early retirement benefits but it has been replaced by a joinder agreement, and according to the Municipal Employees Retirement System, that access is no longer available.
