    A Zalma man has pleaded guilty to a murder charge in connection to the January 2015 death of Kenny Willard. Russell Mayberry was originally charged with first degree murder, but the Bollinger County Prosecutor amended it to second degree murder during court on January 10. He allegedly helped his son move the body and dump it in the river at Black River Bridge near Williamsville.

    Hope Children's Home kicked off their second annual Outdoor Movie Night and Carnival event in Jackson, Missouri on Saturday, October 1. Since 2013, Hope Children's Home has been home to roughly 200 children and helps out 55 other foster homes in the area, making for a total of around 400 kids in foster care. This is just for the 32nd circuit of Cape Girardeau County, Bollinger County and Perry County, Missouri.

    Augustine and Smith were on a charity motorcycle ride a few miles west of Patton, Missouri, in Bollinger County when their motorcycle was hit by an oncoming pickup truck driven by a suspected drunk driver. The truck driver, 49 year-old Paul Patton, was arrested at the scene of the accident and was charged Monday with two counts of felony involuntary manslaughter while driving under the influence of alcohol and the painkiller Percocet.

    The Missouri Department of Conservation said a black bear discovered in a resident's back yard was found to have traveled nearly 400 miles. The department said a resident in Bollinger County snapped a photo of the bear's ear tag in the spring and sent it to officials, who determined the 3-year-old black bear had last been seen nearly 400 miles away in Christian County.
