    The death of a 30-year-old Goose Creek man during a high-speed pursuit with a Berkeley County sheriff's deputy earlier this year has been ruled a homicide, according to the Dorchester County Coroner's Office. Coroner Paul Brouthers' announcement Thursday came five months after the April 19 pursuit and crash, which covered 8 miles and saw the motorcyclist and the deputy traveling at speeds of up to 111 mph through Ladson and into Summerville.

Brouthers said today that he has ruled the death of a motorcyclist run off the road by a Berkeley County Sheriff's Deputy in April to be a homicide, although he made it clear that his ruling should not be construed as showing criminal intent.
