    The state Assembly is betting that cutting bureaucracy and reworking the tax sharing program in the Meadowlands Region will bring jobs and growth to Bergen and Hudson counties. The Assembly bill passed on Thursday aims to consolidate the New Jersey Meadowlands Commission, created more than 50 years ago, into the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority, as well as revamp the 1970s-era tax sharing agreement among 14 municipalities in the two counties.

Rusmir Vucetovic, a citizen of Montenegro, was arrested in November while trying to retrieve the package, which had been flagged by a postal inspector who was suspicious of its contents, officials said.
