Almost a dozen parents of Beaufort High School students criticized the board at its meeting Tuesday for a March 15 vote to move the start times, with the exception of Hilton Head Island schools, from 8 a.m. closer to 9 a.m. The board voted after superintendent Jeff Moss cited research indicating that students who get more sleep perform better academically and are healthier physically and mentally.
