According to the Georgia State Patrol, 31-year-old Noah Hedlington, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, was traveling on Interstate 75 when he passed a state trooper at a high rate of speed.

    Bartow County Board of Elections and Voter Registration Director Joseph Kirk announced that qualifying for independent and political body candidates for the November 8, 2016 general election will be conducted daily during normal business hours at the board's office located at 1300 Joe Frank Harris Parkway in Cartersville from Tuesday, June 28 to Friday, July 1 from 9 a.m. through 12 p.m. Individuals may qualify to run for the Bartow County Commissioner, Chief Magistrate Judge, Clerk of Superior Court, Coroner, County Surveyor, Sheriff, Tax Commissioner, and Board of Education, Districts 4 and 5. For more information about the qualifications for these offices, as well as the qualification process please call 387-5098.
