    Although it's technically not flooding or flooded yet, according to the river gauge at Thebes, Illinois, Alexander County is starting to see water rising over the once sand-covered areas that flooded earlier this year when the Lens Small Levee broke during the historical New Year Flood. What was left over from the New Year Flood was a lot of sand that was carried in by the floodwaters.
