    A Hickory man is charged with stealing a car from outside a home in northern Alamance County on Dec. 15. According to the Alamance County Sheriff's Office, a resident on Elon Ossipee Road reported their car stolen from their driveway after they'd started the car and left it to warm up. The 2006 Chevrolet was spotted the next day by police in Claremont, which is in Catawba County, but the driver wasn't apprehended.

    James Jason McCullough, 43, of 4633 Tangle Ridge Trail, Burlington, was charged with misdemeanor assault on a female, misdemeanor simple assault, and misdemeanor communicating threats. According to the Alamance County Sheriff's Office, McCullough pulled a knife on a woman and another person and said, “I will put a knife in you.” Bond was set for $25,000.
