The Alamance County District Attorney's Office dismissed charges against Nyasha Tulani Anderson, 37, of accessory after the fact to assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.

    The county settled its long-running lawsuit with former finance officer and county commissioners Chair Tom Manning for a surprisingly small amount considering his original $258,822 claim. The county agreed to pay Manning $31,000, Eddie Boswell, current chair of Alamance County Board of Commissioners, said Monday after a 15-minute closed session at the board's regular meeting, "which was the amount calculated for the cost in loss of production and disruption to county business operations during the trial," Boswell read from a prepared statement.
